We are pleased to announce a one-day training program on Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) for faculty members and students of University of Technology  in collaboration with the Office of Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks (CGPDTM) Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.

The objectives of the awareness program are to create public awareness about the benefits of intellectual property among all fields of society, understand the different categories of intellectual property rights, and examine how to file an innovative idea in terms of patents and design.

 

Intellectual property (IP) nurtures and encourages innovation and creativity, thereby contributing towards cultural and economic development of the society. IP can be a very effective tool in achieving the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of an Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

 

The training session will cover different aspects of IPRs, including patents, designs, trademarks, copyright, and geographical indications. It will help shape an environment conducive to innovation and creativity by transforming the faculty’s skills on UG/PG projects and research work, making them more result-oriented.

The training program will take place on 12 April  from 10 AM . It will be led by experts in the field of IPRs and will provide a comprehensive understanding of the topic.

The speaker of this Awareness Program is  Dr. Shahida Umar, Examiner of Patents and Designs, Patent Office-Delhi, Ministry of Commerce and Industry,  Govt. of India. She has been trained in Fostering Innovation and Commercialisation of Intellectual Property Rights from Copenhagen Business School Executive Fonden, Denmark.

This training program is a great opportunity for faculty members and students to enhance their knowledge and skills on IPRs, which are essential for fostering innovation and creativity. Participants will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the training program.
